HOLIDAY BIBLE CLUB 2007

Each year we hold a Holiday Bible Club on the local estate. For the last few years we’ve held it in the local community centre but felt this year it was important to take it out actually onto the estate. So, with gazebos, tables, and lots and lots of laminated things we embarked on 10 Holiday Bible Clubs in 5 days.

The Estate has two sides with the A48 running through the middle. So in the morning we had club on one side and in the afternoon we had club on the other side. 5 days, 2 sides, 10 clubs!

The theme for the week was One Way and borrowed elements from a Holiday Bible Club we did at Easter. We had varying numbers of children come on different days but it was great to be outside in the heart of the estate and catching the eye of passers by, letting them know who we are and why we were there. The photos will tell something of the story but it won’t convey a couple of things.

1. The rain. WOW! On the Thursday when it rained it absolutely chucked it down. We bravely set up, watched a few kids turn up and then rapidly packed up when we realised we were all sinking fast! It was great though as we basically recreated the Club in the church hall for that handful of children, except without the rain!

2. The great way the team worked together. It was a long week but there was excellent unity, encouragement and perseverance. It was great to be part of.

3. The joy of being able to share the gospel with children we have never seen before.

Thank you to everyone who prayed. We believe God worked in ways unseen but we also know he worked in ways that were visible.
